MEET THE FOUNDER & CEO

LAMEKA IVY


Lameka Ivy is a Memphis native and founder of Ivy Mediation and Consulting. Lameka launched Ivy Mediation in 2016 with the goal of helping organizations with limited human resources (HR) access. Ivy Mediation assists companies with creating working environments that support its ability to achieve desired business results. Lameka enjoys building long term relationships and taking time to understand the clients’ business, employment culture, and the strategic vision for the organization. Lameka’s knowledge is focused on facilitation, consultation and resolution strategies with workplace issues. Her areas of expertise include labor relations, equal employment opportunity (EEO), policy development, compliance, mediation, employee training and development, and employee relations (ER).

Prior to becoming a consultant, Lameka held HR positions with two Fortune 500 companies: the United States Postal Service (USPS) and Nike with a combined total of over 500,000 employees. During her tenure at each, Lameka championed HR strategies at the government and corporate level which resulted in practical cost effective HR processes that improved business results and relationships. At USPS, Lameka held positions as a Customer Service Operations Supervisor and Labor Relations Specialist where she negotiated over $1.7 million in savings during grievance conferences. A direct result of Lameka’s knowledge, skills and abilities to not only resolve grievances timely, but also to mitigate cost effectively.

Lameka also made many accomplishments in the USPS EEO department implementing federal discrimination laws training and facilitating alternative dispute resolution practices through the use of mediation. While at Nike, Lameka held the position of Senior Employee Relations Specialist and was responsible for the entire conglomerate of distribution and manufacturing facilities in North America and Canada. She supported 2000+ employees while partnering with Operating Unit leaders to ensure alignment of ER strategies with business initiatives and goals. Lameka holds a Master’s of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management from Strayer University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a concentration in Organizational Management from Bethel College. Lameka is a certified Rule 31 Listed Mediator and Mediator Trainer with the Tennessee Supreme Court. She also has certifications as a small business enterprise (SBE), minority business enterprise (MBE) and locally owned small business (LOSB).

Lameka was featured in the 2016 “10 To Watch” edition of the Greater Memphis Chamber’s Crossroads magazine as an entrepreneur that proves Memphis is the best city for startup success. Lameka was also honored as the 2017 recipient of the Kindle Award hosted by the Loretta McNary Show.
